Comprehensive Care for Chronic Neck and Back Pain

At our practice, we understand the impact of chronic back and neck pain on your daily life. That is why we are dedicated to providing comprehensive care through the Back and Neck Assistance Programme (BNAP). BNAP is designed to not only manage pain but also to restore function, empowering your return to work and resume your everyday activities with confidence.

Discovering the Essence of BNAP

BNAP is a multidisciplinary program offered by medical aids such as GEMS, Polmed, Bestmed and Universal medical schemes. The program offers you the benefit of a treatment program that does not get paid from your day-to-day medical savings. Collaborating with Workability, a health company that specialises in tailored programs for rehabilitation, BNAP is designed to encourage an active approach to chronic pain management. Multidisciplinary team members include a doctor, physiotherapist and occupational therapist. All team members receive regular training to ensure the highest standard of care.

How does the BNAP process work?

A thorough initial assessment will be conducted by a physiotherapist, a doctor, and an occupational therapist. Working closely with the physiotherapist, individualised treatment goals will be established. The number of treatment sessions required will be based on a patient’s risk category.

A personalised treatment plan will be designed by the physiotherapist, tailored to the needs and goals of the individual. Structured exercise program as well as goal setting and pacing will be included in the treatment plan. In addition, through education and coaching, personal pain management strategies will be taught. Evidence shows that an active approach to pain management has the best results and the BNAP program encapsulates this approach.
