Some pain conditions are more complex than a straightforward muscle, joint or nerve injury. They may involve changes in the nervous system, pain processing, movement, sensation and autonomic function, and symptoms can vary considerably from one person to another.
We provide individualised physiotherapy and rehabilitation for people living with complex neurological and pain conditions, particularly where pain, sensitivity and reduced function have become difficult to manage.
Complex pain conditions require more than a one-size-fits-all treatment plan. We take time to understand your diagnosis, symptoms, movement, sensitivity, physical capacity and the impact the condition has on your everyday life.
Depending on your presentation, rehabilitation may include pain education, graded movement and exercise, desensitisation, movement retraining, pacing, functional rehabilitation and hands-on physiotherapy where appropriate.
For selected presentations, we may also incorporate STIMPOD neuromodulation as part of a broader rehabilitation programme.
Conditions such as CRPS, fibromyalgia and FND often benefit from a multidisciplinary approach. Where needed, we work alongside your doctor, neurologist, pain specialist, psychologist, occupational therapist or other members of your healthcare team.
Our goal is to help you better understand your condition, improve movement and physical function, manage sensitivity and gradually rebuild confidence in what your body can do.
With complex pain, progress is not always about eliminating every symptom. It is about improving function, increasing your capacity and helping you regain greater control over your everyday life.
